Registration at the UN Modeling International Conference in New York
Student registration for the UN Modeling International Conference, which will be hosted at the United Nations headquarters in New York from March 12 to 17, 2024, has begun.
American international school “Progress” has become an official partner of the International Model UN Association in New York and as part of the collaboration, for the first time in the school's history, Progress students will travel to a conference at the UN headquarters.
Up to 5,000 participants from the most prestigious schools from around the world participate in the conference annually. This is the world’s largest and preeminent event for high school students Since 1975. Students will engage in live diplomatic processes, such as discussions, negotiations, debates, resolutions, general assembly and many more. The conference supports the next generation of globally-minded leaders by facilitating cross-cultural debate, equipping learners with the academic and social skills necessary to solve some of the world’s most pressing international issues. The conference includes the following activities:
● Official opening and closing events, including GA at UN headquarters;
● Committee works, debates, negotiations and networking;
● Work in different committees on current global challenges;
● Social evening/party and networking with peer leaders from around the world;
In addition to the conference, specially for the progress students, the program includes a tour of New York City and visits to all the main attractions.
The program is open to Progress School students between the ages of 12 and 17.
